Exam Credit

USC awards credit for secondary exams that represent (1) studies validated by a national or state exam and (2) evidence of in-depth study at the college level in a specific number of subjects. A summary of available subject credit for the most common of these exams can be accessed at the following links:

Credit may be available for the following international secondary certificates if recommended on a ‘Detail Report with Course Level Identification for USC’ which can be obtained, for an additional fee, from the International Education Research Foundation (IERF). More exams may be added to this list in the future as they are reviewed.

  • Italian Maturità
  • Vitnemål for Videregående Opplæring (Certificate for Upper Secondary Education) in Norway
  • Collège d'Enseignement Général et Professionnel (CÉGEPs) in Quebec
  • German Abitur

No credit will be awarded for the following exams:

  • Advanced Highers in Scotland
  • Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE)
  • Swiss Maturité
  • European Baccalaureate
  • French Baccalaureate
  • Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE)
  • Danish Studentereksamen (STX)
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma
